What is Tanzanite?
Tanzanite was first discovered in the 1960s and the famous jewelry form of Tiffany & Co named it after the place it was found, namely Tanzania. They also declared it to be the most beautiful stone to be discovered in the last 2000 years. It is a trichroic stone. It reflects a range of different colors, from pale blues, through lilac to deep indigo and violet shades.
Tanzanite is extremely rare. It is mined in only one relatively small place on earth, at the foot of Mt Kilimanjaro in the Manyara region of Northern Tanzania. It is estimated to be approximately one thousand times rarer than diamonds, although it is nowhere near as expensive as diamonds. Unlike diamonds, Tanzanite has no industrial uses, but this factor alone does not account for its relatively low value when compared to diamond.
Tanzanite is a rare mineral that is said to be exhausted by mid 20th century and
tanzanite can be used for many its uses such as using it for home decor as well as in jewelry tanzanite is mainly a prized collection for gemstone collectors.
